let them be little

 when i was a kid,

this was the perfect way to get a drink.

a quick sip

and not a single cup dirtied!

(forget the water all down the side of the fridge and pooled on the floor!)

 when i caught the kiddos in action,

this had apparently been going on for some time.

i had just never seen it.

silly me thought the water in front of the fridge 

had to be from the ice-maker.

NOT.

when i first saw their sneaky ways, i was like where did you learn how to do that?  all the time trying to hide that i was a bit impressed.  i mean, when i figured it out, i thought it was the most smart, inventive, clever, sneaky thing ever!  to which braden responded, "well mom, we are YOUR children!"

that made me grin.  until i remembered how i used to drink out of the milk carton when my mom wasn't looking and i responded, ok but when it comes to a glass of milk, please use a glass.

to which burke then said, "uh that wouldn't be us, that would be baylor."

sigh.  still waiting to catch him in the act.  good thing i hate milk.  love that they are my children.
