as i peeled myself out of bed this morning, brady was already up showered and fed and was bathing brooklyn. sad to say, this has been the norm. these days, i am the first to sleep and the last to wake up. brady hasn't complained, but in my mind, he probably should.
this is just one of the daily reminders to me that he truly loves me. he puts me first. he always has. this is a time when i am only giving 20% and he is giving 80 with a smile. he is not your typical man. he is a stay at home dad with a career. he manages to fill mom's shoes-we all know what that means...tears, messes, runny noses, play dates, laundry, taxi, teacher, nurse, scholar, diapers, lunchtime, snacktime, naptime and somehow in between it all, work. although most moms stay home, right now, this is what our family needs. there are days when i wish i could be the one home, but equally so, there are the days when i am so happy to see the experiences, memories and relationships my husband has built with our kids. not many dad's get the opportunity to spend all day with their little ones. for the first time after three kids, i am the one getting the daily play by play.
and i get it, cause i have done it. i have been there.
i love that. i am grateful for this special time in our lives -where we get to share roles, share in the joy of parenting and responsibility. it has strengthened our marriage like nothing else could. every kid deserves a dad like brady. but few will have one, cause i am finding they are one in a million.

That is really sweet about Brady. I am terrible at leaving comments on other peoples blogs. It is fun to see what is going on with you. Congrats on the 5 pounds that is awesome!!! You and Melanie are inspiring me too. We need to get together soon. Lisa
